History of Rctempire

 

Rctempire, has come along way from when it was first started, back then, a free flash design site called Moonfruit.
The Rctempire came from the game Rollercoaster Tycoon, which i spent many exciting and sometimes frustrating hours pondering over to design the best theme park i could.

The name was shortened when i decided to move my love for Rollercoaster Tycoon onto the very popular Internet, as i designed a website and used the name Rctempire.

 

Altogether Rollercoaster Tycoon Empire, but that was too long to remember so in 1999, rollercoastertycoonempire.moonfruit.com was launched.

 

This was a very popular website with over 5000 visitors in 6 months i was very pleased.

 

I decided a new shorter name was needed and changed it to rctempire.moonfruit.com, and also experimented with designing sites in Frontpage and made a whole new site on Geocities.

 

Sadly my popularity of rctempire and rollercoastertycoonempire wasnt to last as moonfruit decided to charge for their services.

 

I moved on to find new servers so i was using geocities and back then i could hotlink to my other domains making a huge site with all my rollercoaster tycoon and computer knowledge(all being it was very small back then,to what it is now).

 

Rctempire.Tk was born, this was basically a redirect to the old geocities website and until the move to CoolFreePages. Rctempire.Tk was a great thing, a free redirect with a proper TLD(Top Level Domain) rather than http://www.rctempire.geocities.com.

 

Then i stumbled upon CoolFreePages which was my last free website host and im still very greatful for their service and all they offered me as my site was never down.

 

Rctempire.Tk had many designs as i messed with Frontpage and then decided that Dreamweaver was the "tool" for myself with the ability to code html, but also WYSIWYG(What You See Is What You Get). This led rctempire.tk into many new realms as i messed around with different formats and endless designs.

 

Thus in 2005 Rctempire.Com was born, this was a major step forward as i moved away from Free website hosting, to paid for hosting. My current website host is InstantNetworks. With great thanks I thank them for letting me host on their servers for a great price. Rctempire then had really no design, and thanks to Nas at PeerWeb allowed me kindly to borrow (steal really :-) ) his frontend design for this website until i sorted my own design out.

 

Many things have been added, such as a resign of new Tutorials, Music Reviews, P2P Guide, Humour and a Blog.

 

Rctempire.Com has grown with over 4.21 million visits from 1st of January 2006. I thank everyone for this amazing achievement.

 

The current design is the final design until late of 2006 when a whole new Rctempire.Com will be rolled out which as been in development off and on for nearly 6 months.
