Use the PS2 Eyetoy as a Webcam

How to make the PS2 EyeToy work as a Webcam.

Many owners of a Ps2 own an EyeToy camera, which is part of a game for dancing. The Ps2 eye toy works off a standard USB(Universal Serial Bus), plug, making it even easier to use as a webcam on a computer.

First off you need to identify your EyeToy. Flip it over and look at the bottom of the stand. You need to check the Sony Part ID, so you can download the correct drivers for your EyeToy.

You will either have SLEH-00031(PID_0155) or SLEH-00030(PID_0154).
You can download the D-Link DSB-C310 (Rev B1) for all EyeToy Models, and patch them yourself from HERE.
Or you can download the pre-edited files for each model of the EyeToy below:

I have complied the packages above with the correct Inf files. This saves you from editing the infs and messing up the whole install. So all you need to do is download them and extract them. Simple.

How to Install on Windows XP(Pro/Home/Corp) and Windows 2000.

1. Download the correct driver for your EyeToy above, and extract the .zip files.


2. Plug the EyeToy USB cable into your computer.

The New Hardware Installation Wizard will now alert you at the bottom right hand corner, and will pop-up with the New Hardware Installation Wizard on screen.

3. Select Install from A List or Specific Location(Advanced), then click the Next button.

4. Select the “Search for the Best driver in these locations” radio box.
5. Tick the “Include this location in the search” box. Now click Browse button, and locate the place you extracted the EyeToy hacked drivers. Once you have found it highlight the item and click OK.

Windows will now search and select the drivers from the directory.

If this is successful it will change to this screen below with a digital camera/scanner icon. It will continue to install the drivers for the EyeToy.

Once this has begun to install you will be presented with a prompt screen, like the one below.

Click Continue Anyway.

Next you will be presented with a prompt box, with a load of unreadable characters, just click OK to this message.

You will now see a configuration message for the drivers.


Answer YES to this screen, if you live in the countries indicated, or NO if you live else where.

The Installation is now complete when you see this message below. This means you have installed the EyeToy correctly.

If you see this screen you may need to reboot to get the camera to work.

Enjoy your new webcam.

Troubleshooting

This section only applies if none of the drivers above work for your EyeToy

1. Download SnoopyPro USB Sniffer from here and extract it
2. Execute SnoopyPro and locate your EyeToy in the list
   (Click Image Below for Better Picture)

3. Note the Pid_01XX, you will need this to edit the inf file next
4. Follow the guide by ZeR0X here <---- NOTE Point 5 of this guide
5. Substitute your new PID_01XX in the following section of ZeR0X's guide
Replace
VID_05A9&PID_8519
with
VID_054C&PID_015X
6. Thats it, follow the rest of ZeR0X's guide and you will be fine.
